JUST IN: The US House is set to pass a sweeping Russia sanctions bill, sending the Lindsey Graham-backed measure to President Trump's desk. It would allow tariffs of up to 100% on countries like China and India that buy Russian oil and gas.

The House is about to pass a Russia sanctions bill named after the late Lindsey Graham, and it lands straight on President Trump's desk.

Graham introduced this over a year ago, and the Senate cleared it last month, 86 to 11. That's about as bipartisan as Washington gets these days. The headline power is huge, it lets Trump slap tariffs of up to 100 percent on countries that keep buying Russian crude and gas, and that list starts with China and India. Oil money is what keeps Moscow's war in Ukraine running, and this bill goes straight at the wallet.

Not everyone's clapping. A group of House Democrats, Meeks, Beyer and Neal among them, say it hands Trump too much tariff power without actually mandating sanctions on Russia. Their words, it would do more harm than good.

So watch the follow-through. The bill allows those tariffs, it doesn't require them. Whether Trump ever pulls that trigger on Beijing and Delhi is the whole ballgame.
