Rep. Ilhan Omar's home raided by DHS in fraud probe of immigration paperwork: Report

JUST IN: DHS raids the Washington, D. C. -area home of Rep. Ilhan Omar as part of a criminal fraud probe into immigration paperwork filled out by her father, according to a report.

Federal agents raided Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's home this morning.

Homeland Security Investigations executed the search at her Washington, D. C. Area residence, part of a criminal fraud probe into immigration paperwork filled out by her father, according to Fox News. The Justice Department confirmed a judicially authorized warrant was served, and called it part of an ongoing federal investigation. That's all they're saying.

Omar was born in Somalia and came to the United States as a child. She's been one of President Trump's most frequent targets for years, and she'll say this raid proves the point. The administration will say a judge signed the warrant, which means a court saw enough to approve it.

Here's what makes the timing impossible to ignore. The midterms are less than a month away, and Omar is on the ballot in Minnesota's Fifth District. A sitting member of Congress just had her home searched by federal agents in an election month. However this investigation ends, that fact is already in the campaign.
