Trump picks Truth Social’s Katie Zacharia as White House press secretary
JUST IN: Trump appoints Truth Social communications adviser Katie Zacharia as White House press secretary, succeeding Karoline Leavitt.
The next voice of the White House comes straight from Truth Social.
Donald Trump has named Katie Zacharia as his new press secretary. She's a lawyer, a regular on conservative news outlets, and until now a communications adviser for Trump's own social media platform. The job's been open since Karoline Leavitt walked in August, and this is who he's picked to fill it.
And listen to the job description, because Trump wrote it himself. He praised her unblemished record of support, called her a loyal and brilliant supporter, and said she'll work fantastically with the media. Notice what comes first in that list. Not the briefings, not the press corps. Loyalty.
So the podium in that briefing room now belongs to someone whose last employer was Trump's own platform. The line between the administration and its media arm just got a whole lot thinner.
