Alexander brothers each sentenced to 30 years in prison in sex trafficking case
BREAKING: The Alexander brothers, two of them high-profile US real estate moguls, each sentenced to 30 years in prison in a sex trafficking case after being found guilty of luring women to parties and raping them.
Thirty years each. That is the sentence for the Alexander brothers, handed down in New York.
Tal Alexander and his twin brothers Oren and Alon, two of them prominent real estate moguls, were convicted in March of drugging and raping dozens of women over decades. Prosecutors said they used their wealth to lure victims to parties and luxury homes. You can see them here in the courtroom sketches, listening as their lawyers argued for less time.
On Tuesday, twelve victims addressed the court. One woman said she carries a quiet funeral within her for the person she might have become. Another said she was sixteen when two of the brothers raped her. Many asked for life sentences.
The brothers still maintain their innocence. Judge Valerie Caproni called their conduct monstrous, and asked how anyone who never acknowledged their wrongs could be rehabilitated. They will be in their seventies before they are free.
