ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude all went down at the same time
BREAKING: ChatGPT, Grok and Claude all go down at the same time, with OpenAI reporting 'elevated errors across ChatGPT and Codex.'
ChatGPT, Grok and Claude all went down at the same time.
Around 11am Eastern, OpenAI's status page lit up with elevated errors across ChatGPT and Codex, and it wasn't just chat. Logins, file uploads, voice mode, search, image generation, all of it wobbled. You can see the company behind it here. OpenAI says it's applied a mitigation and is monitoring recovery, which is engineer speak for we're poking it with a stick.
Anthropic went sideways at almost the exact same moment, Claude, Claude Code and the API. A staff member blamed an infrastructure issue with no ETA. And Grok fell over too, on the app and the web.
Three rival companies, three separate outages, one window. Either the shared plumbing underneath all of them hiccupped, or it's the strangest coincidence in tech this week. Half the internet's homework just ground to a halt at once, and nobody's saying why yet.
