Putin floats 'chance' at peace with Ukraine as NATO chief warns Russia is becoming 'increasingly reckless'

JUST IN: Putin says peace with Ukraine remains possible, but brands Kyiv's warning over Russian airspace 'state terrorism' as NATO's chief warns Moscow is growing 'increasingly reckless.'

Putin says there's a chance at peace with Ukraine. His words, in Vladivostok this morning.

He told the Eastern Economic Forum the war must be settled by the two countries themselves, and yes, in his view, peace is possible. You can see him making the statement here. But listen to what came in the same breath. He called Ukraine's warning to airlines to avoid Russian airspace state terrorism, and promised to intensify attacks on Ukraine. That warning came from Zelenskyy, who says Russian skies are now completely unsafe because of the sheer number of drones flying in them.

NATO isn't buying the peace talk either. Secretary General Mark Rutte says Moscow is growing increasingly reckless, pointing to missiles and drones crossing the eastern flank and an alleged hybrid attack at Leipzig airport last month.

So one man offers peace and promises more strikes in the same speech. After four years of this war, that contradiction is the whole story.
