Crypto under weekend pressure, bitcoin slides below $80,000 on U.S. Middle East evacuations
BREAKING: Bitcoin slides below $80,000 as crypto comes under weekend pressure amid US evacuations across the Middle East. $BTC now down 2.3% on the day.
Bitcoin just dropped below eighty thousand dollars, and it happened on a Saturday.
The coin is down 2.3 percent on the day, and the trigger is not a crypto story at all. The United States is evacuating personnel across the Middle East, and that news landed on a weekend, when crypto is the only major market open. So all of that geopolitical fear had exactly one place to go, and it went straight through bitcoin's order books.
That is the uncomfortable truth about weekend trading. Stocks are closed, bonds are closed, and crypto becomes the world's risk gauge whether it wants the job or not. Thin liquidity means moves get exaggerated, and the eighty thousand level gave way without much of a fight.
The hard fact is this. When Washington starts pulling people out of a region, traders sell first and ask questions Monday. Bitcoin is wearing that fear right now.
