Man City agree £86m deal for teen midfielder Bouaddi
BREAKING: Manchester City agree a deal in principle to sign 18-year-old Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi worth up to 100m euros (£86m), with Lille accepting an initial £81.4m plus £4.2m in add-ons.
Eighty six million pounds for an eighteen year old. Manchester City have agreed a deal in principle for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, an initial eighty one point four million plus four point two in add-ons, up to a hundred million euros all in.
And honestly, you can see why. He's the one applauding the Lille fans here. Debut three days after his sixteenth birthday, a Champions League win over Real Madrid on his seventeenth, five starts in Morocco's run to the World Cup quarter finals this summer. He broke an Eden Hazard record before he could legally rent a car in most countries.
City needed this. Rodri went to Barcelona, Reijnders went to Saudi Arabia, and Enzo Maresca has a midfield to rebuild. They've already spent a hundred and sixteen million on Elliot Anderson, and they're still sniffing around Enzo Fernandez.
So the hardest fact tonight is this. City have now spent over two hundred million pounds on two midfielders, and neither has kicked a ball for them yet.
