Saudi Arabia faces new missile and drone fire after major attacks on airports
BREAKING: Saudi Arabia faces fresh missile and drone fire after major attacks on its airports, with the FAA now warning US airlines over flight risks in the kingdom's airspace.
Saudi Arabia is under missile and drone fire again, right now.
This comes after major attacks already hit the kingdom's airports, and the follow-on fire means whoever is launching isn't done. Airports are the target set here, civilian infrastructure, the places ordinary travellers stand in line. King Khalid International in Riyadh is among the hubs the whole country moves through, which tells you how exposed this moment is.
And Washington has noticed. The FAA has formally warned US airlines about flight risks in Saudi airspace. That's the American regulator telling its carriers that the sky over a G20 economy may not be safe to cross. Airlines read those notices very literally, and reroutes around the Gulf get expensive fast.
The hardest fact tonight is simple. A country that moves millions of passengers now has its main airports inside somebody's targeting list, and the attacks are still coming.
