Amazon cloud capacity sold out through 2027, CEO Jassy says
JUST IN: Amazon says its cloud capacity is sold out through 2027, CEO Andy Jassy says, as demand for AI computing surges.
Amazon just told the world it has nothing left to sell you until 2028.
CEO Andy Jassy says AWS cloud capacity is sold out through 2027, and the reason is the one you'd guess. AI demand is eating every server, every chip, every square foot of data center the company can build. You can see Jassy here, and he didn't frame this as a problem. He framed it as a flex.
And honestly, it kind of is. Sold out for over a year is the sort of sentence most businesses dream about. But it also means every startup, every enterprise, every lab racing to train the next model is now fighting over compute that technically doesn't exist yet. When the shelves are empty, prices don't usually go down.
The biggest cloud on earth is at capacity, and the AI boom hasn't even slowed to ask directions.
