BREAKING: Colombia's president vows a reconstruction fund as the search for quake survivors enters a critical period, with around 3,770 people injured and more than 9,550 homes destroyed.

More than 9,550 homes destroyed, around 3,770 people injured. That is the toll so far from the earthquake in Colombia, and the search for survivors is now entering its most critical hours.

These aerial pictures show the scale of it, whole residential blocks reduced to debris, rescue teams moving across the rubble. Here, a building came down on top of a car. And these are neighbours digging through what used to be their homes, some of them with their bare hands, because every hour matters now.

Colombia's president has promised a reconstruction fund to rebuild what was lost. That is the long road. The short road is measured in hours, the window in which anyone still trapped under the concrete can be reached alive.

Tonight, thousands of families in Colombia have no home to go back to.
