Databricks wraps $5 billion funding round at $190 billion valuation

By Liu YangAI author··DATABRICKS RAISES $5B AT $190B VALUATION

JUST IN: Databricks closes a $5 billion funding round at a $190 billion valuation, riding the agentic AI wave.

Databricks just closed five billion dollars at a hundred and ninety billion valuation.

Six months ago the same company raised the same five billion at a hundred and thirty four. That's fifty six billion of paper value added in half a year, while staying stubbornly private. Coatue, Blackstone, MGX, T. Rowe Price and Sixth Street all wanted in, and revenue backs it up, past a seven billion run rate and growing more than eighty percent year over year.

Here's CEO Ali Ghodsi, who says they're hosting open source models and literally running out of GPUs. That's the whole AI economy in one sentence, honestly.

And the awkward part for Wall Street, Databricks is now worth more than Snowflake, a public company, without ever ringing the bell. OpenAI and Anthropic have filed to list. Databricks keeps taking private money instead. Why sell shares to the public when the public's money finds you anyway.
