Dembélé, Torres star as PSG score 6 to launch UCL defense

BREAKING: PSG launch their Champions League title defence with a 6-1 rout of Slovan Bratislava, Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé scoring twice and Ferran Torres netting a hat trick.

PSG just opened their Champions League defence with six goals in Paris.

Slovan Bratislava came to the Parc des Princes and left with a 6-1 lesson. The headline act was Ousmane Dembélé, the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, who scored twice, and both were his first goals of the entire season. He'd been benched, hauled off at halftime against Rennes, ineffective against Monaco. Tonight he looked like the best player in the world again, and he said it himself, after barely any holiday post World Cup he just needed his legs back.

And then there's Ferran Torres. A hat trick, two of them teed up by Dembélé, and that's five goals already since his summer move from Barcelona. Luis Enrique paid for a forward and got a machine.

The champions dropped points to Monaco on Friday and answered with six on Wednesday. That's the mood in Paris tonight.
