DRAMA as Verstappen crashes out of the Dutch Grand Prix early!
BREAKING: Max Verstappen crashes out early at the Dutch Grand Prix, losing control and hitting the wall in the opening laps of his home race.
Max Verstappen is out of his own home race, and it took just a few laps.
The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, the orange grandstands, the flares, the whole party built around one man, and that man lost control early and put his Red Bull into the wall. You can see the aftermath here, debris across the track, the car wrecked, the rest of the field picking their way past.
He climbed out, which is the part that matters, but the day is done. Think about what that crowd paid to be there. They travel in their tens of thousands, they turn the place orange, and they got a handful of laps before the star of the show was walking back to the garage.
Zandvoort has mostly been a coronation for Verstappen. Today it turned on him, in front of everyone who came to watch him win.
