Maria Bartiromo is out at Fox News after twelve and a half years.

Fox announced it Thursday with a statement so short you could miss it. We thank Maria for her work, wish her all the best on her next chapter. That's it. No reason given, no farewell tour, nothing. That's her here, at the desk she's anchored for over a decade.

She hosted Mornings with Maria on Fox Business and Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street, and her last episode aired Thursday morning. So the audience watched her final show without knowing it was her final show. Neither, possibly, did she.

This is a woman who was the first reporter to broadcast live from the New York Stock Exchange floor. You don't quietly walk away from a franchise with your name on it.
