From Bahrain to Riyadh: How Iran strikes battered US bases, embassies
NEW: Pentagon report reveals Iranian strikes battered US military bases and embassies across the Middle East, from Bahrain to Riyadh, with hundreds of buildings damaged and severe disruption to American forces.
Hundreds of American buildings, damaged by Iranian missiles. That's the Pentagon's own count.
A new Pentagon report lays out the scale of Iran's strikes across the Middle East, and it's wider than anything Washington had admitted before. Military bases and embassies were hit from Bahrain to Riyadh. You can see some of the damage here.
Bahrain matters because that's home to the US Fifth Fleet, the navy's anchor in the Gulf. And Riyadh means the diplomatic footprint took hits too, not just the military one. The report describes severe disruption to American forces across the region, which is careful Pentagon language for operations that were genuinely knocked off balance.
The honest takeaway is this. For years the assumption was that American bases in the Gulf were essentially untouchable. This report, from America's own defence department, says they weren't.
