Group of 47, including 2 Singaporeans, missing in Nepal floods: Hiking company

BREAKING: 47 people, including two Singaporeans, 15 Australians, 10 Canadians and eight Americans, missing in Nepal's flash floods, a hiking company says.

Forty seven people are missing in Nepal's flash floods.

That's the count from a hiking company, and the group is international. Two Singaporeans, fifteen Australians, ten Canadians, eight Americans, all unaccounted for after floodwaters tore through the Himalayan trekking region.

These pictures show the scale of it. An entire valley town partly buried under grey water and debris. Buildings that stood on solid ground days ago are now half submerged in the current, and this is the terrain rescuers have to work through to reach anyone still out on the trails.

Late August is monsoon season in Nepal, and it's also when trekkers start arriving for the autumn window. Those two things collided this week.

Right now the hardest fact is the simplest one. Forty seven people went into those mountains, and tonight nobody can say where they are.
