JUST IN: IAEA says Iran is blocking nuclear inspectors, with no on-site access to declared nuclear materials, as Tehran's parliament speaker threatens US energy assets and the IRGC warns vessels off southern Iran.

The IAEA says it can no longer see Iran's declared nuclear materials.

No inspectors on site, no on-the-ground access, nothing. The agency whose entire job is watching that stockpile is now watching a locked door, and these pictures show the kind of facilities we're talking about.

The timing is what worries me. On the same day, Iran's parliament speaker threatened American energy assets in the region, and the IRGC put out a warning to vessels off the country's southern coast. So the inspections go dark just as the rhetoric around Hormuz gets louder. Those two things feeding each other is exactly how miscalculations happen.

Here's the hardest part. The last time the world lost visibility into a nuclear programme in the middle of a shooting war, everyone ended up guessing. As of tonight, on Iran's declared nuclear material, the world is guessing again.
