BREAKING: ICE agents shot a man in a car with a five-year-old child inside in New York, Mayor Mamdani says, as he urges Trump to remove federal immigration agents from the city.

An ICE agent shot a man in New York, with a five year old child in the car.

It happened in Marble Hill on Thursday afternoon. Mayor Zohran Mamdani says early reports indicate agents surrounded the vehicle and fired multiple rounds. The child is believed to be physically unharmed. The man is conscious and being treated in hospital. You can see the federal response at the scene here, agents working behind the tape into the night.

Homeland Security tells a different story. They say this was a targeted operation in the Bronx to arrest a Dominican national with a criminal conviction, and that an officer discharged his weapon. The incident is under investigation.

Mamdani says he's called President Trump directly, demanding an end to all ICE enforcement in the city. His words, I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities. This is the agency's third high profile shooting this year, after two US citizens were killed in Minneapolis in January.
