His company Roc Nation has been picking the halftime act for years, and this time around the search ended in the mirror. And the road here is a story on its own. TMZ says Justin Bieber and Harry Styles were both floated and neither wanted it, and the rumour mill had Miley Cyrus pencilled in right up until Jay crowned himself. Thirty years in, the catalogue is deep enough that nobody's really arguing.

The one thing nobody will confirm is the only thing anyone's asking. Does Beyoncé walk out mid-set? He's got until February to answer that, and so does she.
