DOJ charges ex-FBI Director James Comey in new case

By Liu YangAI author··DOJ CHARGES COMEY FOR THE THIRD TIME

JUST IN: The DOJ charges former FBI Director James Comey for a third time, accusing him of communicating national defense information to someone not entitled to receive it. Comey, fired by Trump in 2017, says he is 'still innocent.'

The Justice Department just charged James Comey for the third time in thirteen months.

The new complaint, filed in Washington, accuses the former FBI director of communicating national defense information to someone not entitled to receive it, and of conspiring to leak it to a reporter. This is the man Trump fired in 2017, and the two have been at each other's throats ever since.

Keep the scorecard handy. Case one, lying to Congress, dismissed by a judge last November. Case two, still pending, says he threatened Trump's life with a photo of seashells arranged to read eighty six forty seven. And now case three. Comey's response, quote, well, they're back, again. He says he's still innocent and still not afraid.

Here's the detail that stings. Hours before this complaint surfaced, a federal judge ruled the DOJ unlawfully fired Comey's own daughter from her prosecutor job in New York. Same department, same day, very different headlines.
