Anthropic IPO live updates: AI lab lost $80.7 billion in first half of 2026
JUST IN: Anthropic files for a blockbuster Nasdaq IPO under ticker 'ANT', revealing an $80.7 billion loss in the first half of 2026 as revenue surges past $1.2 billion.
Anthropic lost eighty point seven billion dollars in six months. Billion, with a b.
The company behind Claude just filed for a Nasdaq IPO under the ticker ANT, and the S-1 is a wild read. Revenue past one point two billion, which sounds great until you put it next to the losses. CEO Dario Amodei, who walked out of OpenAI with his sister Daniela and a handful of researchers in 2021, keeps control. The founders' LLC holds 50.1 percent of the voting power, so you can buy the stock, you just can't tell them what to do.
There's also a line that stopped me. Anthropic will pay SpaceX around three point one billion a month for compute. A month. And the filing flags Taiwan and TSMC as a risk that could hit everything.
So here's the arithmetic they're asking Wall Street to swallow. One point two billion coming in, eighty billion going out, and a ticket to the public market anyway.
