Meta announces $95 billion stock offering to fund AI expansion

JUST IN: Meta announces a $95 billion stock offering to fund its AI infrastructure and superintelligence push.

Meta wants ninety five billion dollars of your money for AI.

The company announced a stock offering this morning, thirty five billion upfront in underwritten public equity, then another sixty billion dribbled out through an at-the-market program. All of it earmarked for AI infrastructure and what Mark Zuckerberg keeps calling superintelligence.

Here's why I raised an eyebrow. Meta just posted a twenty six percent revenue jump last week, sixty four point six billion in a quarter, and the stock still fell. Why? Free cash flow went negative, and full-year capex got bumped to as much as a hundred and forty five billion. So a company printing money is now passing the hat, because the data centers are eating it faster than the ads can make it.

Shares were up over one and a half percent premarket, so investors are buying the dream for now. The real question is how long shareholders keep paying for a superintelligence nobody's seen.
