Kushner Meets With Hamas to Advance Trump’s Gaza Plan
NEW: Jared Kushner has met Hamas leaders in Egypt to advance President Trump's Gaza plan, officials say, and will soon meet Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
Jared Kushner has met Hamas leaders face to face in Egypt.
That's the man himself, President Trump's son in law and his point man on the Middle East, sitting down with Hamas officials to push forward the White House plan for Gaza. Officials say the meeting happened in Egypt, which has spent months hosting the shuttle diplomacy around this war, and Cairo is once again the room where it happens.
Next stop is the other side of the table. Kushner is expected to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soon, and that conversation may be the harder one. Any plan Hamas can live with is a plan parts of Netanyahu's coalition will fight, and he knows it.
So hold onto this. An American envoy speaking directly with Hamas, then flying to Jerusalem to sell the result. Whatever the plan says on paper, the diplomacy is now happening in person.
