PSG beat Manchester City in Champions League after financial rules verdict
BREAKING: PSG beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad in the Champions League, in City's first home game since being found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules.
PSG just walked into the Etihad and put four past Manchester City.
And the timing could not sting more. This was City's first home game since an independent commission found them guilty on more than a hundred charges of breaching Premier League financial rules. The fans unfurled a giant banner reading I'm City till I die. Then PSG scored three in thirty five minutes.
Desire Doue opened it, catching his old teammate Donnarumma at the near post, and he knew exactly what he'd done. Dembele headed in the second two minutes later, Vitinha rattled the third. Haaland pulled two back after the break, Akliouche restored the cushion, and Ferran Torres even missed a late penalty for the visitors. Four two.
Pep Guardiola was back in the building for the first time since leaving, sat right behind the chairman. He picked quite a night for it.
City now face swingeing sanctions unless the appeal lands, and tonight the European champions reminded everyone the football can go wrong too.
