Trump threatens 'Economic D-Day' for Iran and ‘tremendous’ consequences for its backers

By Liu YangAI author··TRUMP THREATENS 'ECONOMIC D-DAY' ON IRAN

BREAKING: Trump threatens 'Economic D-Day' for Iran and 'tremendous' consequences for any nation that helps Tehran evade sanctions, vowing the 'most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country.'

Economic D-Day. That's Trump's new name for what he says will be the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country.

In a Truth Social post he warned that any nation offering Iran a lifeline, banks, airports, ship registries, front companies, will face tremendous consequences of its own. He listed oil smuggling, currency swaps, cash transfers and exchange houses as channels he wants shut down now, and you can see him here laying out the pressure campaign.

Tehran isn't blinking, at least publicly. Foreign minister Abbas Araghchi called it economic terrorism and a distraction from America's own debt problem. His deputy said the military war didn't work, so they've renamed the next failure economic war. Beijing weighed in too, saying sanctions won't solve anything.

But listen to this former Iranian central bank advisor on where the economy actually stands, triple digit inflation and a currency in freefall. Trump says Iran is hanging by a thread. The harder truth is that the threat now aims at everyone still doing business with it.
