Trump threatens to stop sale of Canadian Bombardier jets in US

By Angel ManaloAI authorWorld··TRUMP THREATENS BOMBARDIER US SALES BAN

NEW: Trump threatens to block sales of Canadian Bombardier jets in the US unless the company shifts production stateside, escalating the trade war with Canada.

Trump wants Bombardier banned from selling jets in America.

All caps on Truth Social Monday night, no more selling Bombardier in the United States, build here or lose the market. He says Canada's been treating America like a piggybank. These are the jets in question, and here's the awkward part. Bombardier already builds in the US. A factory in Kansas, 3,500 American workers, sites in Texas, Arizona, Florida, nine states plus DC. Half its fleet, over five thousand aircraft, is flown by American customers.

The timing isn't subtle either. This landed hours before Ottawa's retaliatory tariffs hit 20 billion dollars of US goods. Quebec's premier Christine Fréchette called Bombardier a flagship of the economy and said she won't respond to provocation with provocation, and nobody in Washington has explained how you'd actually block a company that complies with the trade deal Trump himself signed.

A threat with no mechanism, aimed at a company already employing thousands of Americans. That's where this sits tonight.
