'We'll knock it out fast': Trump may target Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear facility
NEW: Trump says the US may target Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear facility, warning 'we'll knock it out fast' amid ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
Trump says the US may strike Pickaxe Mountain, Iran's deep underground nuclear site.
His words, we'll knock it out fast. He said it here, amid ongoing US and Israeli strikes on Iran, naming the facility directly as a possible next target.
Pickaxe Mountain matters because of what it is. It's a fortified complex near Natanz, dug deep into rock, built precisely so that airstrikes can't easily reach it. Western analysts have watched its construction for years, and it has never been inspected by the UN's nuclear watchdog. If Washington goes after it, that's not a warning shot, that's an attempt to hit the hardest target Iran has.
And knocking out a site buried under a mountain is not fast, whatever the podium says. Previous strikes on hardened Iranian facilities have needed the biggest bunker busters in the American arsenal, and even then the damage was debated.
A sitting president just named a specific Iranian nuclear site and promised to destroy it quickly. Tehran heard every word.
