Bitcoin treasury Datavault AI plunges 50% after firm says it can’t access its BTC
BREAKING: Bitcoin treasury firm Datavault AI plunges 50% after saying it cannot access its BTC holdings.
A bitcoin treasury company just told the world it can't get to its own bitcoin. Datavault AI said it cannot access its BTC holdings, and the stock dropped fifty percent, basically on the spot.
Think about what this company sells. The entire pitch of a bitcoin treasury firm is, we hold bitcoin, you buy our shares, you get exposure. You can see the asset in question here, the one thing they had one job to hold onto.
Investors heard can't access and did the only rational thing, they ran. Half the market value, gone in a session. The whole treasury trade, the Strategy playbook that dozens of small companies copied this year, rests on one assumption, that the coins are actually there and reachable.
Datavault just reminded everyone that keys matter more than press releases. If a treasury firm can lose the plot this fast, the question isn't about this one stock. It's about who else hasn't checked their wallet lately.
