BREAKING: Champions League 2026-27 league phase draw sees Arsenal drawn against Real Madrid, while Manchester City face PSG and Barcelona in blockbuster ties.
Arsenal just pulled Real Madrid out of the hat.
The Champions League league phase draw is done, and the ceremony in all its glossy glory delivered some genuinely brutal fixtures. The trophy sat there gleaming while five English clubs found out their fate. Arsenal get Real Madrid and Bayern. Manchester City drew PSG and Barcelona, both of them, in the same phase. Liverpool take on Atlético Madrid and Inter, and Manchester United got Bayern at home and Atlético away.
And spare a thought for Aston Villa, who also landed PSG and Barcelona. Somebody at UEFA clearly enjoys chaos. Before the balls came out, Thierry Henry picked up the UEFA President's Award from Aleksander Ceferin, a nice moment before his old club got handed the Bernabéu.
Five English sides, and not one of them got an easy ride. January is going to be carnage.
