GTA VI looks just as great as we could hope for
NEW: Netflix and Rockstar Games have debuted the first 26-minute 'extended look' at Grand Theft Auto VI, showing off the game's driving, shooting and cinematic story in a major visual leap over previous entries.
Rockstar just showed twenty six minutes of Grand Theft Auto VI. Actual gameplay, not a teaser, and after years of drip feeding us ninety second trailers this feels almost generous.
Netflix and Rockstar ran the extended look together, and it delivers everything the series is famous for, driving, shooting, crime, and story scenes that look like a film. The visual jump over previous entries is enormous, densely packed rooms, detailed streets, and the whole thing was captured on a PS5, which frankly makes me wonder what they fed that console.
The interesting bit is the two leads. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos work as a pair, and the game lets you swap between them mid chaos. One scene has you hanging out of a car window shooting at police while she drives, then later you're the driver instead. Same getaway, different seat.
The game most of the industry has been waiting a decade for finally looks real. Now it just has to ship.
