Missiles intercepted near Riyadh after Saudi coalition hits Yemen fuel depot

BREAKING: Missiles and drones intercepted over Riyadh and other Saudi cities after the Saudi-led coalition struck a fuel depot near the Houthi-controlled Yemeni capital Sanaa. A limited fire was reported at an Aramco building in Dhahran; no casualties.

Missiles and drones were shot down over Riyadh tonight, hours after Saudi jets hit a fuel depot near Sanaa.

The coalition struck the Yemen Petroleum Company's al-Sabaha facility in the Houthi-held capital, and the response came fast. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki says four missiles and two drones were intercepted near Riyadh, with more shot down over Dammam. Shrapnel fell on a residential area in Dhahran, where an Aramco administration building caught a limited fire. No casualties reported from tonight's exchange.

But the backdrop is grim. Thirteen people were killed on Saturday when a missile hit King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, and another died there the next day. The Saudi cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, says the Houthis will bear the consequences. In Sanaa, queues formed at petrol stations before the strike even landed, residents bracing for shortages.

Two capitals under fire in the same night. That's where this war is now.
