Nvidia to invest $3 billion in Meta as tech giants deepen AI partnership
JUST IN: Nvidia to invest $3 billion in Meta, deepening the tech giants' AI partnership, as Meta moves to raise $95 billion for AI infrastructure.
Nvidia is putting three billion dollars into Meta. The chip seller buying into its own customer.
Here's the setup. Meta wants to raise ninety five billion dollars for AI infrastructure. Thirty five billion comes first through public equity offerings, then another sixty billion through an at-the-market program. And the buyers lining up include Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom, who between them are interested in up to five billion in shares.
So Jensen Huang's company invests in Mark Zuckerberg's company, and Zuckerberg's company turns around and spends that money largely on, well, chips. The money goes in a circle and everyone's stock gets a story to tell. The chipmakers now literally own a piece of the demand they're supplying.
Ninety five billion dollars for data centers, from one company, in one raise. That's the hardest number in tech this morning, and the suppliers are so confident they're paying to watch it get spent.
