Rangers thump Celtic to reach League Cup semi-finals

BREAKING: Rangers thrash Celtic 3-0 to reach the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, with Dan Neil scoring twice as Derek McInnes wins his first Old Firm derby as manager.

Rangers just put three past Celtic without reply. Three nil, in an Old Firm derby, with a place in the League Cup semi-finals on the line.

And spare a thought for Derek McInnes. This was his first Old Firm derby as Rangers manager, and he didn't just win it, he won it by three clear goals in a cup tie. Managers spend whole careers chasing a day like that.

For Celtic, there's no dressing it up. Knocked out of the cup, beaten comfortably by their fiercest rivals, and a lot of hard questions heading for that dressing room. Bragging rights in Glasgow belong to the blue half tonight, and they were earned.
