Terror on board Iranian plane as violent shaking rips cabin apart
BREAKING: An Iranian Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 has its cabin ripped apart by violent shaking after making an emergency landing in Mashhad, Iran, following a burst tyre and engine damage shortly after takeoff.
Passengers on an Iranian Boeing 737 watched the cabin shake itself apart mid-flight.
This was a Sepehran Airlines jet out of Mashhad. Shortly after takeoff, a tyre burst and the engine took damage, and the crew turned straight back for an emergency landing. The footage from inside is hard to watch, the whole cabin rattling violently, panels coming loose, people bracing in their seats. Look at this.
The plane made it back down at Mashhad airport. But there's a bigger story underneath this one. Iran has been under strict American sanctions for decades, which means airlines there struggle to get spare parts and proper maintenance for their fleets. Ageing Boeings kept flying with whatever can be sourced.
Everyone on that plane walked away this time. The question nobody in Tehran can answer is how many more flights like it are in the air right now.
