Ukraine's chief prosecutor just resigned over phone scam call centres.

Ruslan Kravchenko quit on Monday, a day after anti-corruption investigators searched his offices. Their claim is blunt. An official inside his own office ran a money laundering network that took cash to protect call centres running phone scams, then spent the proceeds on property and jewellery. Millions in assets, according to Ukraine's anti-corruption bureau. Here he is announcing his exit, denying everything, calling the allegations completely unsubstantiated and saying he won't let his office become a tool for political confrontation.

President Zelensky hasn't said a word yet, and that silence is loud. His inner circle has been hit by scandal after scandal, and last year his attempt to rein in these very investigators sparked nationwide protests. Ukraine's former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov was asked about it, and even he said the president needs to answer for what he knew.
