Katie Zacharia Fired as White House Press Secretary

JUST IN: Katie Zacharia fired as White House press secretary after just five days on the job, according to The New York Times.

Five days. Katie Zacharia is out as White House press secretary after five days.

The New York Times broke it this afternoon, and yes, that beats Anthony Scaramucci's famous ten-day run back in 2017. The Mooch is officially off the hook as the shortest-lived act in that building.

Her week was rough from the start. You can see her here at the podium, where her first briefing lasted all of fourteen minutes. Then came the questions about her calling herself a lawyer on TV for years despite never passing the bar. Minutes before the firing dropped, Trump told reporters she'd been treated very, very badly by the media and didn't need the headache. Reader, she no longer has it.

The detail I can't get past, her first act in the job was announcing Kimberly Guilfoyle had been asked to resign. Five days later, the same door hit her on the way out.
