Saudi-led coalition says it’s carrying out operation in Yemen
BREAKING: Saudi-led coalition says it is carrying out a wide-ranging military operation targeting Yemen's Houthis, with government forces conducting more than 2,750 strikes in the past 24 hours.
More than 2,750 strikes on Yemen in twenty four hours.
The Saudi-led coalition says it's carrying out a wide-ranging military operation targeting the Houthis, and these are the images coming out of the country right now. Government forces are conducting the strikes, and the pace is extraordinary, over a hundred an hour across a full day.
Yemen has lived through years of this war already, one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, and an escalation of this scale will be felt far beyond the front lines. The Houthis control the capital Sanaa and much of the north, and they've shown before that they answer strikes with strikes, on shipping in the Red Sea and on targets inside Saudi Arabia itself.
What we don't know yet is the toll on the ground, and in Yemen that number is always the one that matters most.
