Verstappen claims dominant first Singapore GP win

BREAKING: Max Verstappen claims his first ever Singapore Grand Prix win with a lights-to-flag drive, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli, as Lewis Hamilton apologises for a messy strategy that dropped him to sixth.

Max Verstappen finally won Singapore, and he did it without a working radio.

Lights to flag, led every single lap, and his team couldn't talk to him the entire race. Didn't matter. There he is on the podium, the one street circuit that had always refused him, now ticked off, seven seconds clear of Charles Leclerc at the end.

The real drama was behind him at Marina Bay. Lewis Hamilton apologised to Ferrari over the radio after calling his own strategy, staying out on ancient tyres and getting swallowed by both McLarens on his way down to sixth. When the driver says sorry to the pit wall, you know it went badly.

And quietly, the biggest story of all. Kimi Antonelli took third and now leads George Russell by 102 points. Outscore him by 23 in Austin in two weeks, and the kid is world champion.
