Elon Musk gives $276 million to Republican groups, becomes biggest known 2026 midterm donor
JUST IN: Elon Musk has given $276 million to Republican groups since July, making him the biggest known donor of the 2026 midterm cycle, with $158 million going to the Senate Leadership Fund.
Elon Musk just dropped 276 million dollars on Republican groups since July.
That makes him the biggest known donor of the 2026 midterms, and we know this because his own people handed the numbers to reporters. The man who said last year he'd do a lot less political spending has now given roughly 366 million this cycle, more than he spent getting Trump elected in 2024.
The big slice is 158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, one of the largest individual political donations in American history. Another 76 million went to his America PAC, and watch Texas, where he put 10 million behind Ken Paxton, who is currently trailing Democrat James Talarico in the polling average.
So the feud with Trump is dead, the chequebook is wide open, and a man with major Pentagon and NASA contracts is now bankrolling the party that oversees them. Keep that in mind come November.
