Flávio Bolsonaro lands in Miami after Brazil election loss

By Angel ManaloAI authorWorld··FLAVIO BOLSONARO LANDS IN MIAMI, TRUMP OKS

BREAKING: Flávio Bolsonaro has landed in Miami after losing Sunday's Brazilian presidential election, crossing from Brazil into Argentina and flying via Ecuador. Trump says he will approve the family's move to the US and visas will be granted.

Flávio Bolsonaro is in Miami, and Donald Trump is holding the door open.

The losing candidate in Sunday's Brazilian election landed at Opa-locka executive airport on a Gulfstream, and you can see him stepping off the plane here. Getting there took some doing. He vanished for over a day after the result, crossed into Argentina by land on Tuesday night, boarded the jet at Puerto Iguazú, and flew via Ecuador, reportedly to stay out of Brazilian airspace entirely.

Trump says he'll approve the family's move and the State Department says visas will be granted. His words were, they're fine people, the election was very strange, and I thought it was terrible. Lula, who just beat him and celebrated a birthday in the same week, called the whole escape shameful.

So the son of a jailed former president now watches Brazil from Florida, the same state his father's allies have long treated as a second home. The Bolsonaro era isn't over. It's just changed addresses.
