'McLaren will be furious!' - Was Norris to blame for Piastri collision?
BREAKING: McLaren team-mates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri collide on the final lap of the Singapore Grand Prix Sprint, with Norris's overtake branded 'not smart' by Martin Brundle as the stewards launch an investigation.
Lando Norris just torpedoed his own team-mate on the final lap.
Fourth and fifth, a one point difference, and Norris decided that was worth a lunge up the inside of Turn five at Marina Bay. Piastri turned in, front-left met rear-right, and this is what it looked like, the Australian spun and out, Norris limping home eighth for a single point. McLaren were set to bank nine. They got one, and their cushion over Red Bull for third in the constructors is down to eleven points.
Martin Brundle didn't dress it up, he called it not smart, twice, and said the swap wasn't worth the risk. Norris apologised on the radio, then told the cameras the move was on. Piastri says he's not that bothered. I'd love to hear how that sounds inside the debrief room.
Both drivers have been summoned by the stewards, and they race again tomorrow, same walls, same two cars, same garage.
