Missile strikes passenger terminal at Riyadh airport and many are wounded, official says
BREAKING: A missile strikes the passenger terminal at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, wounding many, officials say, as the airport is evacuated and flights diverted amid days of Houthi attacks.
A missile has hit the passenger terminal at Riyadh's main airport, and officials say many people are wounded.
This is King Khalid International, the main gateway into the Saudi capital, now evacuated with ambulances rushing in and flights diverting away. Kuwait Airways cancelled its routes because the airport simply closed. Over the past 24 hours alone, more than 225 flights there were scrapped.
It's the latest in a week of attacks on the airport since the Saudi-led coalition launched its offensive against the Houthis in Yemen. Wednesday's strike killed a Sudanese national, and three Saudi citizens, including a pilot, were killed two days ago. The Houthis claimed the earlier attacks. On this one, so far, silence.
President Trump was asked about it on Friday and said he's not happy. But there's been no sign of American military support in response. The Saudis are asking their allies for help, and right now the capital's airport keeps getting hit.
