Nvidia in talks to invest further in Reflection AI or buy it, FT reports
JUST IN: Nvidia is in talks to invest further in Reflection AI or buy the startup outright, the FT reports.
Nvidia might just buy Reflection AI outright. The FT says talks are happening right now.
The chip giant is already an investor in the startup, and here's the man writing the cheques, Jensen Huang, who's spent this year scattering Nvidia's cash across the AI ecosystem like confetti. Now the conversation has apparently moved from topping up the stake to swallowing the whole company.
And that's the interesting part. Nvidia sells the shovels in this gold rush, the chips everyone else fights over. Buying a model lab means stepping onto the field and competing with your own customers. OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, they all buy from Nvidia, and they'll all be reading this report with narrowed eyes.
Neither company is commenting, and talks can die quietly. But if the biggest company on earth starts buying the labs as well as supplying them, the whole AI food chain gets redrawn. Keep an eye on this one.
