Star defensive tackle Aaron Donald ends retirement to rejoin Rams
BREAKING: Aaron Donald ends his retirement to rejoin the Los Angeles Rams, reportedly on a one-year $20M deal, teaming with Myles Garrett to form a fearsome defensive line.
Aaron Donald is back. Two years retired, and the Rams just un-retired him.
The reported deal is one year, twenty million dollars, with playoff incentives on top. Not bad for a 35 year old who hasn't taken a snap since March 2024. Then again, this is a man with 111 sacks, eight first team All Pro nods, and a Pro Bowl in every single season he played.
And here's how it happened. Sean McVay called Donald to ask what he thought of trading for Myles Garrett. Somewhere in that chat, the question flipped to, well, would you fancy playing next to him? Garrett arrived in June, and now Donald follows.
So Los Angeles lines up two players with five Defensive Player of the Year awards between them, on a team that reached the NFC Championship Game last season. Every quarterback in the NFC just felt a chill.
